The Bay does Dwell

Posted by Bonnie Wilson in Furniture | local | Shopping

The Bay store in downtown Vancouver is going through a 40 million dollar renovation. In doing so, they’ve seriously upped their high-endness to compete with retailers like Holt Renfrew and the soon-to-be-in-Vancouver Nordstrom (whooo hooo). Until today I never thought twice (or even once) if the furniture selection would change too. The Bay is know for carrying some seriously ugly furniture, and generally I would not step foot on the furniture floor. However, today I made my way up the five not working escalators to the home goods department in search of lampshades, and around the corner I see Dwell Studio furniture! It was alike a glowing like of gorgeousness. Look at some of these samples. I still can’t believe these are at the Bay!

This silver leaf cabinet:

I wanted to hug the little old lady who said she liked this sofa the best.

Lastly, this sexy man’s armchair.

Prices aren’t cheap, and they still have some low quality stuff (crooked plastic-looking nail head trim on a non-handmade sofa. Really?), but there is lots of beautifulness to put your eyes on or to rack up the Bay points on.
