The Aquasana shower filter helps your family enjoy bathing in filtered water with a simple attachment to your shower line that you can install in minutes. No plumber is necessary. Our unique two-stage shower filter system uses a combination of copper-zinc oxidation media and coconut shell carbon to reduce over 90% of the chlorine in your water. The filter also reduces organic chemicals and enhances pH balance. This means that you'll be able to enjoy the health and cosmetic benefits of showering in clean water, like reduced asthma symptoms, softer skin and healthier hair. Aquasana replacement shower filters last six months or 10,000 gallons, so a healthy shower can cost you as little as 25 cents a day with our no-contract replacement filter auto-ship program: Water for Life.

Great product, greedy company?

I bought the Aquasana Filter set that included the wand (not chrome set). For starters, I only purchased this filter six months ago and already the price has jumped $20. The replacement filter now costs the amount I paid for the whole set. I know manufacturing costs go up, Russian hackers scare Wall Street and threat of alien invasions all lead to higher prices, but that’s a 40% spike in 6 months. Seems a little excessive to me, but maybe the CEO needed to pay for his new yacht, know knows?

Showerhead settings defective.

There is less residue on my shower items than before so I know it’s working. The only problem is that the shower head pours out like a faucet no matter what setting I have it on. It’s very frustrating. My boyfriend who can fix most anything, still can’t get it to work right. Unfortunately, It only started happening after the opportunity to exchange or return expired. It makes sense for the that I should get a replacement

So far, so good

We have hard water, we have heavily chlorinated water, and we have water with high levels of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). So far, I have bought the Jonathan Product shower filter and this Aquasana shower filter. That said, this review is based on two factors: Installation and Filter Results.

Just ok

This shower filter is just ok. I was expecting so much more after reading all the positive reviews. I live in a rural area and we have well water that has a lot of iron, rust etc. in it so I have to have a filter to wash my heavily bleached hair. I have used other filters that were half the price. Some of them didn’t work any better than this one but at least one other one that I ordered seemed to work better than this one. It’s not a bad filter, just nothing special for the higher price. My hair doesn’t look or feel extra special after using it and my hair is still very tangled. I will go back to the cheaper verson when this one gets old and it’s time to replace the filter.

Great Filter Well Water

We live in a rental home on a well. I’m not sure what awful things are in our water, but it tasted and smells horrible. After showering my skin would itch and have a slight burning sensation. I bought a Brita pitcher for drinking water and started looking for a filter for the shower. I read many reviews on various sites and decided on the Aquasana filter. We have had it installed a little more than a month now and I am 100% pleased with this product. The minute the water flow is changed from the bath faucet to the shower head, the smell is gone. The water feels wonderful on my skin and my teenage son is back to taking long showers. No more itchy or painful skin. Our problem isn’t chlorine as it doesn’t come from a city system; I’m not sure what it is but the Aquasana is filtering it out.

Excellent filter quality, though the hose and wand could be improved

I’ve been using Aquasana filters for over two years and have been very happy with the filter quality. You can really tell the difference in the water quality right after you install a new filter (or change your old one). The water smells cleaner and fresher, and feels softer (rather than feeling like “hard water”– water with a lot of dissolved minerals). The Aquasana filters are two step, combining both a carbon filter (like the one in Britas) as well as a copper filter that removes a wider range of heavy metals and organic impurities. They also maintain an impressive flow rate — the water is consistently high-pressure and feels full when you use it, rather than seeming like it’s being strangled. It also works well with hot water — up to 115F according to the manual — some filters are technically only supposed to be used with cold water.
