Going strong after 3 years!

We have had this running day and night for 3 years and it is in great condition. There are no strange rattling noises or clogs like you see in some other air purifiers. It provides a nice ambient noise and it not too loud (on the lowest setting).
VERY well constructed and highly functional, but kinda noisy.

This thing is simply massive; it DWARFS one of those water cooler 5 gallon jugs. It’s simple, looks nice, and highly functional. The quantity of air it moves even on the lowest setting is nothing short of staggering, it seriously moves more air than my dual window fan and it ejects it in a perfectly even cone with no one area having a stronger flow or different direction than any other area.
I’m not sure if it’s working (UPDATED) It is Working!!!

I’m not sure about this unit yet. I’ve been running in continuously on mostly the very high setting for 5 days now. I would have expected to see some kind of evidence on the filter that it’s working. At least a little dust.
R.I.P. 50250-S, you had a too short of a life.

I purchased the Honeywell air purifier in February 2013. Ran it 24/7/365 except to clean or replace the filters. It burned out in November of 2016. First clue it was dying was when it made squeaking noises. Two weeks later, as I was having dinner, I smelled electrical wiring burning. When I went to investigate, the machine was humming and stinking up the house pretty bad. I don’t know if it would have burst into flames but I’m glad I was home at the time. I took it apart and the motor was hot enough to burn skin.
I love the Honeywell HEPA filter line of products, so read my review to find out why I only give this one 3-stars

First let me say I love the Honeywell HEPA filters. I have a smaller one I recently purchased for my Son and two older ones I just replaced with this model that had lasted through10 years of constant use before the motors finally started making a loud squealing sound.

In this review, I will first summarize the major points and focus the details afterward. This way you can stop reading when you get the level of details you need. The definitions of “HEPA” and “CADR” are placed at the end of this review. Please vote for this review if you like it I appreciate it.
It’s big and loud, but works well for intended purpose!

I bought this after I had hardwood floors installed and the oil based polyurethane smell was still overwhelming after more than a week. Within 24 hours of running this there was a huge improvement in the smell. I still run it at night in the living room, and notice I need to dust less often. It is too loud on the top two settings to have it going and watch tv or have company. On low, it’s good white noise. Including a photo to better show the size.
Not a Blue Light special!

I would’ve given this product 5 stars for the function of purifying the air as well as having a great “sound” that drowns out outside noises. It acts as white noise. However . . .whatever !@#$%^& engineer that decided it need the blue light ring around the switch, I hope the bluebird of happiness flies up his nose! This light makes it impossible to sleep in the dark. Right now, I’m planning to buy a small can of black paint to block out that light. If I could figure out how to get a dental pick into the ring around the switch, I would bust those little bulbs. Aren’t we told that the blue light from all our electronic devices causes insomnia? Why would this company think we needed this light on a device that can be used in the bedroom? I actually bought 2 of these, one for a daughter who is asthmatic. It has really made a difference in her ability to sleep. She said she doesn’t wake up coughing and gasping for air during the night. Not sure what she thinks about the light. For those of you looking for a great air purifier, this one fits the bill if you don’t mind the light. I plan to write to the company about their idiot engineer and the blue light! The least they could have done is put an OFF switch on it like another product I use in my LR.
Very noisy at high settings but tolerable at night at the lowest setting. The blue light is annoying at night – I took apart the panel and bent the LED out of the way.
