This is a replacement for our first Singer Steam Press that survived our family life for 25 years or more. I’m still in the learning process of using this newer product. Overall, it’s a keeper BUT it’s a different tool than I’m accustomed to using.

A GAME CHANGER in household appliances!

Well there are few game changers in the world of household appliances, but this is ONE BIG GAME CHANGER. Just finished doing the first three items on this new steam presser and THERE IS NO LEARNING CURVE. Silk, cotton and linen all came out just like it comes from the cleaners. Maybe better since it does not have an institutional smell (I like GAIN smell). I am going to learn how to starch the shirts next since now I am convinced this thing will be fine to use on shirts. Took me about 1 minute to press a silk tank…and unlike with a conventional iron, there are no creases since you are not moving the fabric around with the surface of the iron…it also ensures that garments stay in shape as you are not stretching them with an iron. I think this will work well on crinkly fabric…need to test it. I selected this model because they made a few modifications to make it better (changed the off/on switch to the top of the presser, added an easier to click fabric setting panel). I also liked it because it said _ Made in Vietnam rather than China….just a personal thing because I think Vietnam can use the help economically.

After reading the previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive. My experience has been the pictures used in the advertising did not give you an honest idea of the items’ construction, quality of workmanship etc. I also learned from the reviews that it would take a little practice and patience to get the hang of “pressing clothes”. For me I spent two hours carefully and slowly learning the ins and outs of the machine. I am glad I did. I do believe the instructions could be re-worded to make some aspects of the operation clearer but over all they are OK. I do the majority of “ironing” in our household. This little machine is worth every cent spent. It has cut my “ironing time” in half. It is very easy to use once you are accustomed to it. It is small enough to fit on a table. It is stable and well constructed. I ordered an extra pad from another company just in case (based on some reviews I read). You don’t need an extra pad unless you are burning your clothes on the “table”. For me the purchase has been very satisfying overall.

This is the one.

I only wish I had discovered pressing my clothes instead of ironing them years ago. I’m only one month into use the steam press, but it seems to be everything I had needed for dress and casual shirts. It is taking me some time to get used to the proper placement of my clothes in the press, but that is getting better with experience.

I love this press it’s compact and stores easily

Singer just knows how to make an iron. I love this press it’s compact and stores easily. The steam function is spot on, my only advice is do not use the recommended settings for each fabric I thought they were just to high. It took a bit of getting use to but buy the second day I was pressing king size bed sheets like a pro. I believe this is the latest model and am having some trouble finding the from replacement pad and silver cover I expect the older model ones would fit this but I’m holding out until they make them for this unit. Great buy as ironing time is much quicker, decently priced as well.

You’ll like it depending of your needs.

Don’t discard your small Iron, you’ll need it for the spaces that the big one can’t reach.

Great Press!

I really like this machine. It is easy to use and does a great job on slacks. I am still learning how to do shirts. The only thing I wish was better is the area to slide a shirt or pants through is narrow. At $4.00 a pair for cleaning slacks, I will make up the money in no time.
